a wake up call!

seems very funny....was chatting at li dan abt my career options and what are the possibilities for me....when suddenly she just stopped and said, "winnie, i think u have lost ur direction and become clouded."...quite shocked to hear this but after thinking it through, i realised the truth in her statement...at first i wanted to leave ke because i know it is super messy....even just after i started work, i already told myself that i wont stay more than 1 yr and want to leave before licensing in 2009....then i got really tired abt the working shifts and told myself i really need to leave because of the shitty working shifts...then there came rumours that ke is going to be sold and rather have already been sold.....i told myself then...ok now i must quickly get out of this place before i get retrench or get sold over to whatever place.....then the last straw was when mbt received some unfair treatment....i told myself then better leave than to stay in a place where the boss dun even bother abt it.....but then after i have officially tendered, i got swayed by his offers to make me stay....to get me to stay on, he even asked me what i was interested in doing and made a offer to let me try my hand at what i was interested in...plus my 4 interviews seem to be leading to no where....the offers that came in were nothing fanstatic... i guess this really made me a little confused....li dan told me not to consider boss's offer...after all she said it could be a ruse just to get me to stay on..whether his plans will materialise is another matter.....told me to stick to my guns and still leave and she is very confident that i will be able to find something better along the way...i wish i could be as optimistic like her....honestly i know that even if i stayed on, it will be entirely for the sake of having a job.....at the end of the day, the same problems will still exist...lousy working shifts...sch may be sold ..unfair treatment etc....is there any point in staying on then?....or shd i just stay on for the sake of the fact that i will be employed?...need advices....i feel so lost.....like li dan said, i am totally clouded already.....

Hi Horsey....I tink u should probably find out abt ur wants and needs before heading for more interviews and making a decision...U should really tink abt wat u want in life...Frm wat i interpreted frm my readings of ur blogs..I may not be completely right..but i tink i was once like u...very unhappy with my pay but yet wanted to still stay in early childhood field...I struggled and my ex-p told me tt God puts us in this field for a purpose...and if we r really keen in this field...We shouldn't tink so much into money...not tt dun tink at all but to prioritise our wants and needs...Do we really need so much money? Even if we have so much money...will we be happy? Money n passion! something has gotta go...so y not strike a win-win situation...find a place or rather stay in a place where u know tt u will learn new things thou the money may not be fantastic...as long as our daily needs are met...Money needs need to be met but i tink professional growth n learning are more crucial n will decide our lives in early childhood more..whether it will be meaningful or not...we shouldn't be living for just money...not tt its not impt..but tt passion n learning may be more impt...Pple often ask me y i am so obsessed in work...its not work tt i am obsessed in...its the values and passion and love for children that keeps me going...I am not raising a fantastic pay if u want to compare...But i am very contented with wat i have...becoz i live each day meaningfully, knowing tt i will learn new things...inspire pple's lives and touch them in ways that no money can buy....I believe tts y God places me here...to motivate...to learn..to inspire and to bring pple closer to HIM...Horsey...u should really tink wat u want....seriously...money or passion or a strike between the two...=o) Hope tt this helps...
